Getting Tougher On Exploiters
Another week has flown by like .. whoa! .. where did that week go?
Today I’d like to talk mainly about bad sites.
Effective immediately I will be considerably tougher on sites that are outside our terms. I’ve deleted several members this week for hidden iframes (the ones that exploit paid search sites), casino advertising and viruses. I think the rules are very clear and there are prominent guidelines on the ‘Add Your Site’ page.
Fortunately, the majority of members are just honest business owners and marketers who play by the rules and I will do everything I can to ensure you have an enjoyable and productive time at WWT.
Whilst I can’t reply to all of them, I DO read every site report and act on every one where I can see the rule violation. So, please keep them coming in. It is your reports that play a major part in keeping WhirlwindTraffic relatively free of bad sites.
Also, a reminder that if you refer 20 members in any calendar month, you will receive the current month’s PLR package from PLRMasters.com.

Since you mentioned exploiters here at Whirlwind Traffic, it also brings to mind a type of promotional site posting that has been a common practice at all of the traffic exchanges I belong to (I’m now enrolled at over 80 of them).
More and more website ad-pages are including videos on them explaining the programs being pitched. Some of the videos are quite lengthy and it causes the pages to load very slowly.
Many times these slow loading pages cause my computer to tie-up and then I usually end up having to re-boot and then login all over again, or on some sites, you even lose your page count and it starts all over again like it was a new day with the counters reset.
These videos can also use excessive amounts of memory and virtual memory. If you get 2 or 3 of these sites in a row while surfing, they can make a very problematic surf experience (although, I’m sure my computer does need a clean-out from malware, spyware and adware that has accumulated), but it really isn’t fair for those sites to be hogging all of the surfing time as compared to the sites that don’t have such a complex program to load.
I really haven’t seen any sanctioning of these video-laden sites, but I think TE owners should consider having some type of ROM memory limits or a resource capacity ceiling (such as bandwidth) to assist in leveling the playing field for using the traffic exchange’s promotional resources and for keeping the surfer’s experience less challenging.
It’s a definite exploitation of the TE’s resources and of the surfer’s time for these type of sites to be able to be used at a TE, or at any other marketing-membership site for mentoring and learning where there are free offerings of webmaster promotional services.
I believe this concern to be a valid complaint. Could everyone please share your thoughts on this issue?
